This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Emily MacMackin our Senior Communications Consultant. She hails from New Brunswick, Canada and has five years of experience in the Communications field in both the NGO and advertising world.
Emily started her public relations and communications career in 2013 as a freelance public relations specialist working with small businesses and offering them copywriting and strategic planning services. She completed her Bachelor of Public Relations at Mount Saint Vincent University in 2015 and have gone on to work with many organizations as a public relations and communications consultant.
Emily’s love of the startup and small business life, as well as her love for film, is what drew her to Cinemaloop. She loves startups and small businesses as she grew up around an entrepreneurial venture that was run by her father and uncle. In 2012 her two loves met when she started organizing street marketing promotions for films by Lions Gate and E-One Entertainment. But her love for the cinema experience, in general, came about when she first saw the Disney classic “The Little Mermaid” at a drive-in theatre when she was younger. When asked what drew her to work for Cinemaloop, she said: “When I saw Cinemaloop was looking for people I thought that it would be the perfect opportunity to continue my connection with the movie industry in a different capacity. It made sense to me as I was looking for a way to gain more experience in the global startup ecosystem. Cinemaloop provided all of that – it just made sense.”
She hopes that with Cinemaloop, she could help improve the movie-going experience by carving out and developing a sizeable niche within the movie market, specifically with people who are constantly in need of movie-going companionship.
Thanks for joining us on the journey Emily, we love having you onboard!
